Frequently asked questions about Temperature and Control

Why does an electrical cabinet need climate control?

Electronics lose life quickly when run too hot, and condensation causes corrosion and short circuits. Controlling temperature and humidity keeps components within their rated range.

Should I use a filter fan or a cooling unit?

A filter fan works when the outside air is cooler than the target cabinet temperature and reasonably clean. If the ambient is hotter, or the cabinet must stay sealed, a cooling unit is the better choice.

How do I prevent condensation in an enclosure?

A heater keeps the cabinet above the dew point, usually switched by a hygrostat or thermostat. In sealed cabinets, a thermoelectric dehumidifier removes moisture directly.

Tekox Terminal Strips Safety Blocks and Porcelain Blocks

Great electrical installations don't fail because of the major components. They fail because of the small ones that didn't get enough attention.
It's easy to focus on the big-ticket items during specification — and let the terminal blocks become an afterthought. But inferior connection components have a habit of making themselves known over time. Loose connections, degraded insulation, premature failure. The kind of faults that are frustrating to trace and expensive to fix.
Tekox engineer their terminal strips, safety blocks, insulated strips, and porcelain blocks to the standards your installations deserve. Available now from Demesne Electrical — get in touch and we'll show you the range.
